If Not For Me Announce Upcoming Album Where The Light Begins To Fade, Unveils "Novocaine" feat. Catch Your Breath
Pennsylvania's metalcore outfit If Not For Me announce their highly anticipated album Where The Light Begins To Fade, out on August 18 via Thriller Records. Beginning June 10 at 12 PM ET, fans can pre-order the record and get their first look at the bands next chapter. Alongside the album announcement, the band will release "Novocaine" featuring Josh Mowery of Catch Your Breath on Friday, June 12.
“I wrote Novocaine about the people in our lives that we’ve lost because they just couldn’t let us in," shares vocalist Patrick Glover. It’s about the loved ones that so desperately needed help but kept us at arms length. It’s about longing to be whatever you need to be in order to save somebody, but they won’t ever let you. There’s not a more helpless feeling than watching someone you care so much about come apart at the seams while knowing there’s nothing you can do about it. ‘You were the fire I can’t contain, so strike the matches, spread the ashes at my feet.’”

While "Novocaine" may first present itself as a heartfelt anthem of devotion, the song's emotional core reaches much deeper. Elaborating on the inspiration behind the track, Patrick Glover shares:
“Novocaine is one of those songs that I feel like can have a different interpretation or meaning depending on what you need out of it. On the surface it may feel like a love song, and it absolutely is, but I had a bit of a deeper/darker intention with it.”
