Dark Divine Release Ferocious New Single, "Burn The Witch"
Hard-rock band Dark Divine are sharing their brutal new track, "Burn The Witch" on May 10 via Thriller Records. This is the band's first release since their debut album, Deadly Fun, produced by Zach Jones (Chelsea Grin, We Came As Romans, Fit For A King) was released on September 8 of 2023 via Thriller Records. The album includes fan-favorite singles such as "Drown," "Paper Crown," "Dancing Dead" and "Cold."
Dark Divine hones in on their cinematic side with "Burn The Witch." The track exudes angst as whispering vocals that are complimented by the contrast of brutal screams. The song's visual paints an overall picture for the song, as embers burst onto the screen following a wicked storyline.
""Burn the Witch" is a song about the realization that sometimes toxicity has a lasting affect on one’s personality. Even though we may separate from toxicity, it doesn’t mean that it hadn’t turned us into the very thing that we tried to separate from. Sometimes we turn into the very evil that we are defending ourselves from in order to defend ourselves from said evil." Says lead vocalist, Anthony Martinez about the new song.
"Burn The Witch" is Dark Divine's first release since their debut album, Deadly Fun. The record plays with themes of the fear of different types of death from emotional, spiritual and literal. Dark Divine explores anxious feelings throughout worry and doubt as they create graveyard storylines laced in the mystery of a freak-show funhouse.
"Each song has its own message but the whole album is based on different individuals' fear of literal, spiritual, or emotional death. It explores what it's like going through daily life and never knowing what's around the corner, down a hallway, or in the basement. Like walking through a mystery funhouse or a creepy carnival. It's fun but also terrifying at times. Without that fear, everything would be taken for granted." Says Martinez about the band's debut record.
